the Origins
Cingles Blaus began as a small project driven by Magí Baiget, a passionate man with a solid family tradition in the world of viticulture. From an early age, he and his family dedicated themselves to the cultivation of vines, whose grapes were later sold to the Cornudella Cooperative. Over the years, the cultivation techniques were perfected, which resulted in a notable improvement in the quality of the grapes. This constant evolution led to the decision to venture into the creation of his own wine.
The name
Its name has a profound meaning. Firstly, it perfectly reflects the bluish tones that the majestic Montsant cliffs acquire when viewed from our vineyards. Secondly, it represents the unmistakable character that characterises each of our wines.
In 2001, the wine was produced in a small winery located in the heart of the municipality of Cornudella de Montsant, where artisanal processes were followed to create wine of the highest quality.
The Estate
Due to the great success experienced and the need to increase production, in 2006 Magí decided to join forces with the Busquets family, lifelong friends and owners of the Mas de les Moreres estate, located at the foot of the Montsant mountain range. This exceptional estate is the current location of our magnificent winery. A farmhouse, which is actually a group of buildings that form a small village, dating from the 15th century, where they were originally dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards, until the phylloxera arrived and they were forced to uproot the vines and replace them during the 20th century with hazelnut trees.
